El Tarter is a smaller village 100m below Soldeu at 1700m. Our principal hotel - the Hotel Nordic is a wonderful properly ski in ski out hotel across the road from the main village. There are some lovely traditional bars and restaurants in El Tarter is is not quite as lively as Soldeu or Pas de la Casa. However one of the best Apres Ski Bars in the area - L'Abarset is situated right at the foot of the slopes - great music and drinks at the end of the day make it a popular choice! What makes this resort one of our favorites though is the convenience and facilities of the Hotel Nordic - this has to be one the better ski in ski out hotels we have come across. There are snow mobiles for the afternoons and regular buses down to Andorra la Vella for shopping and the Caldea Spa. The is also a creche available at the top of the bubble lift.

Beginners
Beginners are looked after by the Grandvalira Ski and Snowboard school which is situated at the top of the El Tarter bubble lift. Like Soldeu there is a wonderful nursery area served by chairliftsa dn drag tows. Beginners will soon find their feet to explore the immediate El Tarter, Soldeu and Canillo slopes
Intermediates
The bowl above El Tarter is just fabulous with a choice of long blues and red coming back to Riba Escorxada. El Tarter provides a great base for exploring the slopes above Soldeu, Canillon and also further afield to Pas de la Casa
Advanced and Experts
With Aliga the Ladies FIS World Cup downhill run starting at Tosa dels Espiolets and ending right outside the Hotel Nordic there is no excuse for an early morning warm up or end of day blast! The freeride areas in the El Tarter bowl are easily accessible and some chutes knee tremblingly steep. Also take advantage of a day trip to Arcalis - one of our favorite small ski areas with huge skiing which is now included with a 6 day Grandvalira ski pass!
