Coll de Botella

Coll de Botella is situated on the old smugglers road from La Massana to Tor in France. The large sculpture 'Storm in a Teacup' by artist Denis Oppenheim over looks the view point with views to the east over Pal, Erts and La Massana and to the West out over the mountains to France

How To Get to Coll de Botella

Without your car

From Andorra La Vella public bus number XX to La Massana click here for the timetable:

Then take the cable car from La Massana to Pal. From the top of the cable car follow the walking path to the El Cubil Chairlift which whisks you upto Pic de Cubil at 2380m. From here walk down to Coll de Botella

By Car

Follow the CG4 road through La Massana, turn left at Erts and continue through Pal. The road ends at Coll de Botella with a large free carpark. Have a look at directions from Andorra La Vella by clicking here

Our Suggested Walks around Coll de Botella

We think Coll de Botella is a perfect place to enjoy the mountains of Andorra. The views from the coll are superb, but also there is a restaurant / bar El Grill which is open everyday serving food and drinks

1. The Smugglers Road (10km round trip, Vertical difference 230m)

From the car park at Coll de Botella follow the road north past the view point and Storm in a tea cup sculpture to the Coll at port du Cabus on the French / Andorran border and views over France. The abandoned old smugglers village of Tors in France is further down the valley into France.

2. Pic Negre (Using the Cable Car; 5kms round trip, 100m vertical and 500m descent)

Take the Pal-Arinsal Cable Car. from the top station follow the path to the summit of Pic Negre (2570m) then descend back down to Coll de Botella via Port Negre and the GRP path

3. Pic de Cubil (3kms round trip, 300m vertical)

Follow the path to the south of the col up through the woods next to the chairlift (closed in summer). The path opens upto Alpine meadow past a lake then on to the summit with glorious views over both France and Andorra
