Tristaina Lakes

Tristaina Lakes are three lakes found high above the ski resort of Arcalis. A cable car from the main car park to La Coma makes a perfect start to this adventure. These high mountain lakes are a relatively easy walk for all the family and offer somewhere to swim on a hot day in Andorra 

How to Get to the Tristaiana Lakes

By Car

From Andorra la Vella follow the CG3 through La Massana, Ordino following signs for Arcalis. The road passes through Llorts and El Serrat and climbs up to the base station of the Arcalis ski station. From here on the road is closed. There is plenty of parking. Why not check out directions from Andorra La Vella here and Soldeu here.

By Public Bus

From Andorra la Vella you need to take 3 buses. Well woth the effort! Have a look att he timetable here 

Getting upto the Lakes

The road up to the restaurant at La Coma is closed to allow cyclists a safe assent and descent of the hairpin bends. You can walk from here which adds 300m of vertical ascent or you can take the cable car which costs 12€ for the round trip per adult and 8€ per child (6 to 11 years). You can also buy a panoramic ticket to take the Creussant Chair lift up to Port de Creussant for some stunning panoramas over Andorra and France.

Our Suggested Walks up and around the Tristaina Lakes

1. The classic tour (4.3km round trip, 200m vertical rise, allow 3 hours 30 including the cable car)

From the top of the cable car take the path on the righthand side of the La Coma Restaurant. after 30 minutes you have a choice bare left up to estany del Mig (the middle of the 3 lakes) or continue on to estany Primer. Either way is beautiful and the path takes you in a circular route past all three lakes

2. The summits(10km round trip, 500m vertical rise, 1000m descent, allow 5 hours including cable car and chair lift

Take the cable car and chairlift. From the top of the chairlift follow the ridge to the right taking in Pointe de Peyregulis (2703m), Pic de Tristaina (2878m) then dropping back down via port de l'Arbella to the lakes for a rewarding swim in one of the lakes.
