The Skiing

60 fast modern ski lifts now link over 215kms of marked piste from Kitzbuhel to Pass Thurn via Jochberg, Kirchberg and Aschau. Kitzbuhel while relatively low also has one of the longest ski seasons in Austria opening in mid October and closing on 1st May

Beginners

Under the careful eye of one of the three ski schools in Kitzbuhel, beginners will soon progress from the nursery slopes at the foot of the Hahnenkamm. Once they have mastered the snowplough stop and the snow plough turn then runs like 37 down through the trees from the Hahnenkamm. Or the ski school may head up the Kitzbuheler Horn to explore the gentlers slopes to the right as you exit the bubble lift. Blue run 3 all the way down to Kitzbuhel will inspre confidence to start to move further afield.

Intermediates

With over 215kms of marked piste and the possibility of skiing into The Ski Welt area (Ellmau, Soll, Westerdorf and Brixen) Kitzbuhel is one of the largest ski areas in Austria . Long reds and blues link over via the 3S Bahn to PAss Thurn, or down to Kirchberg. In good conditions strong intermediates will be able to tackle Route 34 down to Jochberg rather than taking the 3S Bahn. One run that every intermediate will want to tick off is the Steif World Cup downhill run back to Kitzbuhel. Don't forget about the Kitzbuheler Horn - there are some lovely red and a glorious blue all the way down to the bottom.

Advanced

Emulate the crazy world cup down hillers on the Streif before heading up to Steinberg - from the top of Steinberg there are a number of black runs back down to the 8 man chair. or head over to Pass Thurn on the off piste route through Jochberg. Pass Thurn is the higher part of the area with some fast red and a couple of what we term interesting blacks!.heading back toward Kitzbuhel , bare left and head down to Kirchbergon 43 - one of the longer blacks around. Up at Pengelstein Black 55 looks nothin gon the map... you have been warned!
