The Costa Dorada - Spain's Golden Coast (named because of the beautiful golden colour of the sand) encompasses resorts of Sitges, Cunit, Tarragona , Salou with  Spain's largest theme park Port Aventura World to L'Ampolla in the south.

Sitges is one most important tourist resorts along the Catalan Coast with beautiful golden beaches and a delightful promenade. Sitges has managed to preserve its scenic ambience as well as its artistic and cultural heritage. Sitges enjoys a year-round tourist trade though July and August are by far the busiest. Sitges has a calendar full with cultural activities and festivals. Its Carnival has achieved world recognition, its old-car rallies have drawn throngs of enthuisiasts, as have the floral street carpeting during Corpus Christi, the International Festival of Fantastic and Horror Cinema for example

Sitges is not just a beach resort but town of museums, such as the Maricel art gallery -  halfway between "Modernist" and "Historicist", the Cau Ferrat, which used to be a meeting place for artists, with its exhibition of forged iron and paintings by Santiago Rusiñol and El Greco. You should also visit the Church of Sant Bartomeu and Santa Tecla, or the Vinyet Sanctuary.

The benign climate, the beaches, the picturesque streets and a bustling commercial area make Sitges one of the best places to visit year-round but don't leave Sitges without having tasted the 'xato' a local specialty

Salou is probably one of the best known places in the whole of the Costa Dorada,

Salou is a unique resort on the coast of the Mediterranean - Its beaches with shallow waters and fine golden sand are ideal for children and families, lovely walks along the coast, the quality of accommodation, good restaurants, are among the many of the reasons that people return year after year to Salou.

Salou is a totally modern resort of apartments, hotels, bars and other entertainment facilities all geared to satisfy the every whim of the international visitor! There is a huge number of pubs, clubs and discos along with a wide range of water sports and other leisure activities including golf, paragliding, hiking, cycling and horse riding. Nightlife in Salou is one of the liveliest of all the Spanish coastal resorts. Whether you want traditional flamenco, a Mexican meal, karaoke or all-night discos you'll find it all here.

Cambrils is a world apart from frantic Salou. Parts of the town are still very Spanish in character with narrow, cobbled streets, ancient buildings and typical tapas bars. The resort retains all the charm of a small fishing village and yet boasts some world-class seafood restaurants. Sit by the quayside with a pre-dinner drink in the early evening and you'll be able to watch the day's catch being landed and delivered to the local restaurants just in time for the evening’s service.

Cambrils is the perfect place for those of you who want to spend some quite days relaxing on the beach; the resort has 9 km of sandy beaches!

You can now walk from Cambrils along the coastal footpath which now connects with "Salou´s fuente luminosa", and never loose sight of the sea.

Another beautiful resort well worth a visit is L'Ametlla de Mar, fishing is still very much part of the town with the old white washed fishermans cottages still very much in presence. The resort has a lovely beach, but a short walk away are some beautiful unspoilt coves. Close to L'Ametlla de Mar there is the famous L'Hospitalet de l'Infant. In 1346, L'Hospitalet de l'Infant was born thanks to Peter IV, and his mother Blanca d'Anjou who founded the old hospital which bore the name.

To the south of Hospitalet de l´infant is the Naturist Beach of TORN. This beach is a popular with the European families who are looking for peace, quiet and a way contact with nature.
