Getting Around Menorca

When it comes to travelling around Menorca you basically have the choice of rental car, taxi, public transport (buses) and bikes!

Rental Cars

The roads in Menorca are generally very good. Some care needs to be taken once you get off the main roads as the side roads can get quite rough. A rental car opens up the whole Island and allows you to really explore. Some beaches operate a park and ride serice - especially popular from Ciutadella. Car rental is relatively good value and we have a choice of many suppliers. Take care when chosing, sometimes the cheaper optiosn work out more expensive as the cheaper rental companies may add additional charges.

Taxis

If you don't like driving taxi's are plentiful in Menorca. Each town and resort has a taxi rank. Offical taxis are white with an organe official line down the front doors and on the bonnet. They have a 'Taxi' sign on the roof - illumintaed green means available, red not available!

Buses

Menorca has an efficient bus service which serves all the resorts from Mao and Ciutadella, . Many of the beaches are also served by buses. Bus stops are clearly marked with red and yellow. timetables and destinations shown at each stop and each bus has the final destination clearly shown on the front.
