You can find the Hotel in the heart of Chamonix only a short walk from the lifts, L’Aiguille du Midi and the Mer de Glace. The guests can therefore enjoy the atmosphere of the town centre as well as being able to reach in no time in the enchanting surrounding sites. The hotel now has 30 double or twin rooms, including 3 suites, refined and cosy with light bright wood panelling. In the reception you will find a sitting room with a balcony overlooking the river with views of Mont Blanc. A beautiful lounge area beside a warm fireplace.
Suites -
The Honeymoon suite – situated on the 6th floor in the tower- with wooden beams creating a romantic atmosphere, porthole windows giving you a 360 view of the mountains. A bottle of champagne will be in your room upon arrival for the special occasion.
All suites can accommodate up to 4 guests apart from the Honeymoon suite. All with beautiful views of the mountain ranges and the river, a Tv, radio, mini bar, kettle and courtesy set, safe and free Wi-Fi are in all the suites. There are 3 to choose from. The Brevent suite, the Mont Blanc suite, and the Old Tower suite.
Food & Drink
Breakfast – Start the day in the best way possible, the chef recommends a delicious buffet that you can have either inside or outside on the terrace in our garden, which is by a river with a wonderful view of the Mont Blanc mountain range. Breakfast is served from 7:30am till 10:30am every morning. The buffet includes all types of coffees and teas, hot chocolate, fresh juices, jams, honey, local cheese, charcuterie, vegetables and cold fish, cereals, fresh fruit, pastries, creps, eggs, bacon, sausages, and a selection of breads. If that does not get your mouth watering, then we are not sure what will!
The hotel restaurant is open for breakfast only but it is located in the pedestrian street, in the heart of the town, all the best restaurants are nearby. This will offer you the opportunity to discover each evening a different menu: Savoyard evening with fondue, raclettes, tartiflettes and other typical dishes of the region; gastronomic outing with the finesses of French cuisine; an evening 'belle Italia' with all the gourmet specialities of Italian cuisine without forgetting the delicious pizzas; why not a Japan restaurant with a sushi tasting, change and a change of scenery with typical Indian food...
Every day, 2 buffets are free of charge. During the winter season, the Grand Hotel des Alpes takes care of you as usual by offering you two buffets a day, a sweet buffet from 4:00pm for afternoon tea. And an aperitif buffet from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Due to the sanitary standards imposed on us, each buffet will be attended by our staff who whill provide the service in your room.
The lounge overlooking the Mont Blanc and the river, is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or a delicious aperitif with your friends. A perfect space for you to relax after a day doing crazy outdoor activities, where you can read a good book, play games, or enjoy music. The bartender will suggest you every day the best to delight your palate.
