Les 3 Vallees

The 3 Vallees is reputed to be the largest ski area in the World. The World class resorts of Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Meribel and Courcheval make up this fabulous ski area of 600kms of marked piste and 180 ski lifts. Courcheval is made up of 4 villages from Courcheval 1300 which is the lowest upto Courcheval 1550, then 1650 and finally swankey 1850. Just along the road from 1850 is the resort of La Tania built in 1992 for the Olympic games. The next valley over is the Meribel valley with the resorts or Meribel Les Allues and Meribet Motteret. While in the third valley is often the least skied but has over 300kms of piste and 64 lifts with access to the highest skiing in the area with the resorts of St Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires and Val Thorens.

The Skiing

Beginners

Beginners will soon master the basics on the gentle nursery slopes in the centre of Val Thorens, Les Menuires, Meribel, Courcheval and La Taniia. There are a selection of ‘magic carpets’, easy drag tows and chairlifts to help gain in confidence. Under the careful supervision of the Ski Instructor beginners will soon be able to explore the wide blue runs of the 3 Vallees

Intermediates

The 3 Vallees vies to be the largest ski area in the World. Indeed a truce seems to have descended between Les Portes du Soleil which says that it is the largest International ski area in the World while the 3 Vallees states that it is the largest single ski area in the world! Regardless we are happy to be able to offer our clients both these fabulous areas to ski!

Intermediates will revel in the miles and miles of groomed slopes in the 3 Vallees. Some more demanding slopes are situated very close to our chalets on La Masse – a quite area of the 3 Vallees – a mix of reds and blacks from the top blend in to some fast blues a little lower down. Spend a day exploring the St Martin Valley – starting from the chalets head down to the pretty village of St Martin de Belleville for a mid morning coffee; then work your way back to Les Menuires then the highest ski resort in Europe – Val Thorens before tackling Cime Caron and La Masse to earn a well earned tea back at the chalet. Use one of our guides and ski the fabulous 3 Vallees a long day which takes in Meribel, Courcheval, Val Thorens then back to Les Menuires

Make sure to look at these amazing accommodation options!

Advanced

We know seasoned skiers who have spent many years in Les 3 Vallees but have yet to ski it all! The possibilities for accomplished skiers are endless with over 600kms of marked piste and over 165 lifts to ride. La Masse is one of the places to go on a powder day – just 1 lift from the chalets gets you to the foot of the mountain – fresh tracks all day!

Val Thorens has plenty of wide open runs to perfect your carving skills and also is the jumping off point for the new ‘forth valley’.

Head over to Meribel for some steeper piste skiing – for moguls take the Mont Vallon bubble lift. The couloirs above Courchevel will challenge even the best skiers while the slopes down to Courchevel 1850 will delight most with their immaculately groomed surfaces.
