Anglesey Beach Guide

Anglesey is known for its stunning coastline, beautiful beaches, great scenery and fabulous walks. The island is a mecca for watersports - fast powerboat trips , paddle boarding, canoeing, surfing through to the exhilaration of soaring through the sky and across the water by kite surfing. Come and explore Anglesey with us!

Breathtaking Beaches

Anglesey has some of the most breathtaking beaches in Wales. Beautiful stretches of coast open up vast sandy beaches, tranquil coves and historical sites. There are many hidden beaches on the island for you to stummble across as you wander down the coastal path. These are our favourite beaches:

The first is perhaps the most popular beach on Anglesey - Newborough along with Llanddwyn island famous for the Welsh fable Santes Dwynwen, the patron saint for lovers in Wales. The beach is massive with huge sandunes for the children (and Dads!) to play and hide in. The white sands stretch for over 3 miles. Even on a busy day this beach will have plenty of room for you to relax and enjoy the Welsh summer. Our top tip in July and August is to arrive early.

Aberffraw just up from Newbrough is a stunning beach, dog friendly and always very quiet - perhaps because it is a 20 minute walk from where you park the car - but well worth it.. A secret beach  that looks like it should be in the Caribbean is Traeth yr Ora - translated as the Beach of Gold. Other beaches you should visit are Lligwy, Porth Swtan/ Church bay, Rhoscolyn, Rhosneigir and finally Llanddona. This is not an exhaustive list of all the beaches in Anglesey but a handful of our favourites.

Adventure.

If your looking for something fun more challenging why not learn how to surf or kitesurf? This island has 3 brilliant kitesurfing beaches to learn with instructors availabe for lessons throughout the year. The spiritual home for kite surfing and windsurfing is Rhosneiger.

Just south of Rhosneiger there are  a number of good surfing beaches with cable bay being perhaps the most famous

Why not challenge yourself and try a coasteering course - exploring the coast line in wetsuits - a mix of swimming , climbing, absailing and jumping in to the sea. Join us on one of our wildlife powerboat trips which take you out to see seals, puffins dolphins and porpoises.
