Getting to Anglesey

By Car

The majority of visitors to Anglesey drive. The easiest route to Anglesey is to follow the A55 expressway from the M56 motorway. From the south and midlands either M40 or M1 motorways then M6 then M56 onto the A55 or for a more senic route M6 then M54 and onto the A5 through Snowdonia. From the North M6 then M54 onto the A55.

By Train

There are two mainline stations, BANGOR and HOLYHEAD with hourly trains from Chester. There is a direct service from London Euston which takes around 3 hours 20 minutes. Train times can be checked at Trainline . Cross country traisn stop at the smaller stations on Anglesey - Llanfairpwll, Bethel, Rhoesneiger and Valley.

By Plane

Eastern Airways  operate a scheduled service from Valley (Anglesey Airport) to and from Cardiff

By Ferry

Holyhead is one of the UKs busiest ports with regular ferry service to and from Dublin (Ireland). Ferries are operated by Stena and also Irish Ferries

Getting Aound Anglesey

Anglesey is fairly easy to drive around with main roads accessing most of the lovely beaches and areas of interest. If you don't have a car why not think about hiring one of our open top cars to make the most of your stay on the island. Details can be found here.

Anglesey has a good bus service for a rural area. Arriva operate the majority of the buses. You can buy a daily or weekly ticket for unlimited use on their website.

Taxis are widely available. Premier Cars are very reliable and can be contacted here

Cycling is boomed on Anglesey. The 'B' roads and lanes are quiet offering stunning sceanary. But while Anglesey looks flat it most certainately isn't on a bike. Bikes (including electric) are available for hire from Canolfan, Beaumaris and also from Antur Waenfawr
