Located in the Aosta Valley and on the Italian side of the Matterhorn, this high-altitude ski resort of Cervinia not only guarantees fantastic snow coverage but also connects to the ski resort of Zermatt. The 22km run from the Klein Matterhorn to the village of Valtournenche has a drop of more than 2300m, all on well-groomed piste. This is the perfect resort for intermediate skiers.
The resort itself was an old climbing village and has now grown into this spectacular full-blown ski resort. The cobbled main street is traffic free, with some incredible scenery all around. There are some lovely bars and restaurants which of course serve some excellent Italian food. Cervinia isn’t the crazy après ski, but happy hours are very popular amongst the bars, such as Lino’s and Yeti, especially during the spring months when you can bask in the evening sunshine. A ski school is located in the centre of the village and there is a natural ice rink, which has spectacular views, looking directly up at the Matterhorn.
We recommend purchasing the full area ski pass to also access Zermatt – with this there is access to 295kms of blue runs!
